Hogwashing

Greenwashing refers to the the practice of corporations making their products falsely appear to be more environmentally-friendly than they really are by putting them in suggestive packaging or using misleading language. Similarly, hogwashing can be defined as the practice of generating the public appearance of having compassion or concern for the well-being of animals while continuing to kill millions of them for profit. It is fair to say that hogwashing is one of the main ways the humane myth is propagated in society.
